Practice readiness is a connected set of checks. The patient-facing workflow and the billing workflow need to agree before the first account moves through them.
Define the operating model
List the services, locations, providers, payer arrangements and responsible people. Turn these into a practical setup register. A decision that exists only in a planning conversation is easy to lose during implementation.
Walk through the first account
Use a fictional training case to trace scheduling, registration, documentation, charge entry, submission, remittance and balance resolution. Confirm the handoffs and access permissions without putting real patient information into a test workflow.
Make the first review explicit
Choose what will be checked after the first operating period: missing charges, unworked rejections, posting exceptions and unresolved dependencies. A launch checklist should lead into an operating routine.
Questions to take into the work
- Can the first encounter move through every handoff?
- Are setup decisions reflected consistently across systems?
- What will be reviewed during the first week?

Operational guidance and review questions are editorial analysis, not official payer instructions. Use current payer and program instructions for a specific account or service.
