THE SHORT VERSION

A capable team can explain its decisions and carry work across handoffs. Training, quality review and operational reporting should reinforce that ability.

Define what the role owns

Give each role a clear scope, an escalation route and an example of completed work. Explain both the task and its consequence for the next person in the cycle. Ownership should stay visible when an account moves.

Teach with reasoning

Use fictional cases to ask what the learner would inspect, what evidence is missing and which action is justified. Ask them to explain the choice. This reveals understanding that a list of screen steps cannot.

Make feedback specific

Discuss the decision and the evidence, not just the volume of completed tasks. Agree on one practical change, provide an example and revisit a later sample. A useful review gives the person a clearer way to do the next piece of work.

Questions to take into the work

  • Can each person explain when to escalate?
  • What does a good handoff look like?
  • How will we know the teaching changed the work?
